Immortality has a tendency to suck.
Outliving your lover and maybe even your own children does suck, but if she found a way to make herself immortal, she should be able to make others immortal, too. She should see what agelessness is like when she has an equally ageless partner with whom to watch the seasons pass. With whom to outlast the ages. Empires and kings will rise and fail, but their love can endure eternally. That is the true meaning of "happily ever after".

And anyhow, is it still immortality once you know it can be cured? What's the rush? Write out a bucket list of all the things you want to do and places you want to visit, and keep adding things to your bucket list as you learn more about the world, and as the world itself continues to change. And once you run out of new things to experience, then you can start thinking about undoing your immortality.

Immortality is one of those things that is a blessing or a curse depending on the person. Some people can handle the weight of memory and the isolation of living differently to everyone else. Some people would beg for the cessation of existence because the memories of constantly losing everyone outweighs all.

There's an isekai where an immortal vampire character mentions that he keeps sane by wiping away most of his memories every 400 years or so. Honestly, it's one of those thing that depends on the person.

Thanks for the translations. Cute and sweet! That said pardon my ignorance but is there a gap in chapters? It seems we went from 20 something to 50 something...

It's wholesome and technically a death sentence at the same time, weird feeling.

*in fiction by writers that use that trope as a cope for the fact that they aren't immortal.
As opposed to all of the immortal friends you have who lived tens of thousands of years and are happy with their lives.

It really shows that most of the commenters here do not read, since most depictions of immortality in fiction give well-reasoned and logical explanations for why it sucks. But I guess it's easier to just auto-fellate and pretend everyone else is stupid.

Jokes on you, atm I don't have friends at all.
And that's a bold accusation, given that auto-fellating over their "maturity" for making miseryporn is the anti-immortalist style. And those "well-reasoned" arguments usually are skill issues.

Actually they don't, most stories about "immorality bad" are badly written and use shoddy reasoning.
If you want good story about immortal beings, read Tolkien. Tolkien elves don't want to suicide themselves or think themselves as cursed, even if they can acknowledge that sometimes it can be painful. And when it comes to anime/manga, Maquia was good with both sad and happy aspects of fictional immortality. Frieren is also pretty good with near-immortal MC that shows its downsides without making immortality into some awful curse.
