Idk, she seemed pretty chill on that night after first meeting up with Sunao. The trigger would have to be something else or that part is going to get reinterpreted on a new flashback.
I mean is the first chapter even canon at this point? She was pretty chill because at that time , she was still not giving a fuck about Sunao till that very day. At least not enough to contact him for the past 4 years. But according to author, after 60 chapters, she was apperantly super regretfull and shit.

People should remember that, if they didn't bump in to eachother, Sunao would have never met Lemon ever again. And if he didn't ask her about it, she wouldn't even remember she lied to him about the break up. Her actions in chapter one is completely mind boggling in retrospect

Mystery magic force rewrote their memories or some shit, there easy out.

I would not be surprised if they pull the "MAGIC BITCHES I DON'T HAVE TO EXPLAIN SHIT!"

Poor girl, reasoning herself into oblivion like so many teenagers. Capable of reasoning at a pretty good level, but pour a few drops of teenage angst on top of said reasoning and you got yourself a nice self-destructive spiral.
She seemed to think she was a bad person for being a pleaser and molding herself in function of that, but she'll only be a bad person if she learns about him and Kogahara liking each other and, this time around, chooses to assert herself for once and push forward knowingly. I doubt even then she'd walk over corpses just to get to Sunao so we'll see how this goes.

I like the exposure, but it does feel like the main purpose of this multi-chapter flashback format is to ease Kogahara shippers into Lemon winning. If she really did get bullied into leaving Sunao, which everyone sorta guessed early on, I hope the answer to where the body swapping comes from and, more importantly, why these two seemingly random students warrant such a godly intervention will be more satisfying.

These chapter feel a bit filler cause its basically just reaffirming what we already knew but i guess some of the new info we got will be important to set up who spread the rumors and such.
I feel like there couldve been a more elegant solution but its not exactly bad, if a bit boring.
Hopefully this lemon flashback does t stretch out for another 3 chapter without much new info, i have faith
I think they're still good for showing how things were with Lemon before it all broke down; more so than why they broke up, we're finding out why they fell in love in the first place.

So were DOES the magic soul swap originate from?

Is it gonna be revealed that Lemon had latent witch powers or something?

And they only awakened when her regrets at breaking up ate away at her mind?
Watch there be a plottwist and she turns out to just be a genuine piece of shit and somehow managed to get ahold of the way to bodyswap and all of that just to manipulate him into giving her another chance, or sabotage his relationships 😶

That'd honestly be the only option not totally obvious, instead of author just using it as excuse to get them together again

That would be actually clever or something.

Someone who is capable of pulling such a twist wouldn't has to retcon their own story just to make their fav win 60 chapters in.

I actually like how perspective this chapter and before has been. Also she's still a teenager here so makes sense she is filled with anxiety and still flawed with her thinking.

Why would that make her bad? She's got every right to fight for her love, especially if the guy likes her too. Kogahara is a friend, sure, but that goes both ways, both of them would be stealing him from the other one. If the flashback has a lesson in it, it's probably exactly that moving aside out of some weird sense of moral duty doesn't really do much good. All three just need to openly tell each other where they stand, it's the only reasonable way. Everything else just relies too much on assuming what others think or want.

I'm still thinking there's a solid chance they become friends and Lemon ends up with Glasses. Them being childhood friends was very in our faces.

Shit it's almost like things have complex circumstances. What the fuck does this series do to people to make them produce so much salt, like goddamn.

It's just like all those other people who are like, "Well why don't they just talk to each other," as though suspension of disbelief just isn't in their skillset. If everybody in a drama communicated everything then there wouldn't be a story, and besides that's just not how people operate anyways.

"Well why doesn't he just leave her forever?" Good question, try asking yourself that instead of proposing that's how the series should go.
this story is painfully similar to my own life in more ways than i would like...

I am mildly pissed I went from "dafuq is wrong with Lemon" to "...yeah, I was in Lemon's spot and somehow did even worse"

I should've put the "bad" in between quotes as that's an assessment that would be in the eye of the beholder, which I was contrasting with the fact that her being a pleaser doesn't make her a bad or rotten person, just someone always ending up getting the short end of the stick by never asserting what she wants for herself (which is something I'm personally also actively trying to unlearn so I empathize with the flashback a lot).

Depending on how she does it, there are ways that could be perceived as "bad", but communicating openly about their positions like you said would be the "nice and clean" way of doing it. Like I said, I doubt any of them has the personality to go behind each other's back anyway, but if anything the problem could be that all three of them are pleasers in some way or another.

I'd also say that first and foremost, they have to sort out their own feelings: Lemon already knows she still loves him (but doesn't know about Sunao liking Kogahara), Sunao "supposedly" likes Kogahara (so he says, but there are more highlights of his strong emotional connection to Lemon, and feelings do change), and Kogahara isn't too sure of anything yet and is trying to make sense of the body swapping thing. Kogahara started in the lead, but if she takes too long or hesitates too much it'll be over before she makes a move.

I'm still thinking there's a solid chance they become friends and Lemon ends up with Glasses. Them being childhood friends was very in our faces.
That would be a nice bamboozle going against the general expectations. Why not!
