And MLT translation at that, granted you have to revew it but its $30 a page to review and correct a MLT translation ...TFTC
Holy shit, $30 per page is quite insane ahha, maybe some special happens, like you say a discount or whatever.
Perhaps I was looking in the wrong place, also the $30 was based on a rough word count.$30 per page? That's weird. As far as I know, translations are usually priced by word and $30 is way higher than what translations of western novels are priced per page, and far eastern books, particularly these kinds of "light novels", have way less word-per-page count (by virtue of using waaay bigger font sizes on smaller pages).
I remember when Conyac Support was active (up until some months ago), and the requests for novels translations had half your price for 100 pages for an entire novel (~250-400 pages), or even less. Someone is taking advantage of the current popularity of korean media to make bank.
Sadly, like I said, the only place I know shut down past november. I would suggest checking translation sites at Novel-Updates, discarding any that have very frequent updates for any given series (over 3 chapters a week), then checking the quality of the translation of some of their novels (try to probe if they are using machine translation, just in case). Once you have a short list of legit sites, try asking for some quotes for the project.Perhaps I was looking in the wrong place, also the $30 was based on a rough word count.
If you know any places I can look for translators please do let me know.
Thank you, I did also ask our current TL and he thinks a good translator would cost $100 per 1000 words. Not sure how many words that would be per page, I need to look at some MLT RAWS.Sadly, like I said, the only place I know shut down past november.
