After reading this from start to now and Mitsuishi, I have to say... does anyone know if the mangaka is okay? I am very worried by their mental faculties. No, seriously. Just what the hell happened to them?
Both series started off relatively grounded, and then at some point everything went hell, and not only did they stay there, they kept digging.
Mizuki-senpai is especially jarring because the tonal whiplash didn’t kick in until much later, while in Mitsuishi-san’s case, it started slipping off the rails pretty early on.
Being perfectly honest, I don't really mind this kind of manga, as it is now. I have watched enough 90's anime to be able to accept this kind of chaotic and surreal content. The problem is, I signed up for the kind of manga it used to be, not whatever it has turned into. I will keep reading until the end, because I am already invested at this point, but still. This annoys me as much as it puzzles me.
Just what the hell is this mangaka consuming? It better be sharing, because it feels like it's the good stuff.
