If anything, she should be MORE pissed at Yami for dragging her childhood friend who she knows has issues asserting himself into this whole mess.
In this very chapter she says she knows Yuu would never do such things with a person he didn't have feelings for, so she doesn't treat their past relationship as a "mess she dragged him into". The only mess she could get angry at for his sake was the ghosting thing, but she's not aware of it yet.

Nice strawman. We're arguing against the people saying he's a complete innocent bystander, which is actually being said. Yami is the active perpetrator, but Yuu is also guilty of being a shitty friend who really does tend to only think of himself and what he needs to say to get what he wants.

Also its not a strawman. People are making those actual arguments in this discussion thread that everything is Yuu's fault.
https://forums.mangadex.org/threads...verything-falling-apart.2308230/post-26589546

He's a shitty friend because he didn't go to the heroic lengths needed to track down the girl who ghosted him.
and he's a shitty friend because he went ahead and shot his shot because he's dense and knew he wasn't going to be able to work up the nerve to do it again.

I'm not saying he's innocent; he stuck his dick in crazy in an attempt to get over a girl he thought he had no chance with, he's dense, he didn't tell Hikari the truth because he didn't want to kill the mood, but his main crime is "wasn't a perfect Shoujo protagonist with a therapist license" per a large number of people in here.

So, nice strawmanning back at ya.

She should imo. Run like the wind, girl.
Hikari: "Ta-kun, you need to be punished for lying to me. I hereby sentence you to dating Yami."

Boss, I'm tired. I've been saying this for 2 or 3 comment sections. We can discuss if he is really that much of egotistical asshole, trying not to get burned again or being just more dense than a white dwarf star, but not more saying he did nothing wrong when clearly he did something wrong for everyone to see.

She is indeed not aware of that yet, scratch that, then. This manga is bouncing around so much I'm getting my wires crossed. Though that is something to look forward to, if she's pissed now, what's she going to do when she finds that out? Hikari completely stepping aside and not being involved would probably go against her character at that point. Whether she still wants to pursue Yuu romantically I think is still up in the air, but Yuu is still someone she feels she needs to protect, I think, and unless she just never finds out what Yami did to him, I don't see her not trying to fight for him at the very least as a friend.

I feel for Ayame so goddamn bad. There are no good choices for her- there are no choices, not really, no matter what she tells herself. Eve if she could lie and fake her feelings well enough to fool Hikari this time, she'd collapse internally sooner or later. And it's not anyone else is at fault there, either- Hikari is being a saint believing in her and not lashing out already, and Yuu... well, if anything can be laid at his feet,it's that he's done nothing but react to the others so far. If the author can get over the usual 'guy does nothing while the girls fight over him' romantic drama cliche, this one could end up being one of the greats.

The problem comes from the fact that Yuu's "bad deeds" are flimsy, unfair and victim-blame-y.

Yuu is Yami's ghosted ex. Not her keeper. Yami herself is the one supposed to keep herself in line. not Yuu.

If someone is assaulted. Are gonna say their bad for not wanting to talking about it or pretend it didn't happen? Are you also gonna say that their bad for not solving the problem caused by them being assaulted?

She is a broken person with a need to be self-destructive because of her own internal issues. She dug the hole she's in. More than dug, she hired an engineer and surveyor, filed the plans with city hall, had a multiple round competitive bid with contractors, and was on the job site every day ensuring it was dug exactly to plan. And has shown she intends to keep digging with full gusto, only lamenting her course of action when the inevitable negative consequences arrive.

That said, its hard to not be empathetic to her because she doesn't want to be this way, she just can't stop.

Aight after reading this scene, its changed my opinion of Yuu and Hikari quite a bit. Hikari is the one person in this weird love triangle that is actually the most mature. Even though she has been shown to be super naive, overly positive, and out of the loop...She was one the one who confronted both Yami and Yuu and spoke the truth. And was also smart enough to see through Yami's BS cuz she knows her that well. Even defending Yuu when she could have every opportunity to just let Yami yap.

Yuu on the other hand doesnt get a pass from me for the forced confession now. Everything leading up to it, i give him a pass but not this one. Because this chapter shows, if he was truly friends with Hikari, he would've told her the truth instead of confessing. He should have known she doesnt like liars and telling her the truth about his past with Yami right there would've been the right thing to do no matter how hurt she might be in this. Because at that point, you can at least tell her that her friend is seriously messed up and needs help.

Now I wonder, just how much were these 2 really friends? Got a feeling once we get Yuu's perspective, we will found out they werent as super close as Hikari thought.

Here comes chaotic comments in 3....2.....1

But for real tho, Yuu is kinda innocent in this matter, literally a victim of circumtances.
I still don't understand why people kept blindly siding with Hikari as if she's the only main protagonist here, both She and Aya are equals.
What the fuck do you mean they are equals? Yuu and Hikari are both stupid and make mistakes just like any regular teenager
But Yami is a fucking timebomb, she's a trauma ridden mess who can't deal with her own emotions and just explodes at everyone around her.
It happened when Yuu pressured her, it happened now when Hikari pressured her, she's delusional and can't face reality.
She needs therapy and adults who care, once she learns to stop sabotaging herself then she can start making meaningful connections with friends.

On another note... Hikari has fucking balls, girl's standing up to everyone she thinks has wronged her, leaving no page unturned.

Hikari should just leave both this bitch and Yuu so no more drama would happen.
Go enjoy school life with her actual friend instead.
Maybe we can get some Yuri action with either her 2 friends which is arguably better imo.
Staying to read this dumpster fire just hoping for one day Hikari may get her happiness (without those two baggage in her life)

I just hope Hikari takes the high road again as she's consistently been doing so far, whatever this high road might be.

Many people seem to dig too deeply into the timeline. The issue is not what happened in the past. No one is a "bad person" based on what happened in the past years. What is the issue, are the immediate events of the previous few hours/days/weeks.

1. Yami figuring out that Yuu is her ex and not only not moving to resolve the issue with Yuu and/or Hikari, but completely intentionally creating the situation where she is in the place where there is a very high chance Yuu will find her + proceeding to kiss him, with the knowledge that his entire presence during this event is a plan by Hikari, her best friend and the person she owes an immense amount to, to finally confess.

2. Yuu had a coin flip decision to make - when he was late and found Hikari in the dark corridor, that was the final moment he could have come clean and still salvage the situation. Their relationship would have hit a setback, but it would be salvageable if they had an honest talk. He took a bet by not telling her anything, and then again couldn't just let her go and had to confess himself, right after making out in a public place with another girl. He took a big bet and lost everything. It's not particularly good or bad, just came off as a bit desperate at that last moment, when he confessed.

So no, Yami is not a bad person because she went out with Yuu. She is a bad person because she still couldn't give up or come clean to her friend about her having feelings for him. I'm convinced that if they had talked a while back, Hikari would have been a bit hurt, but she would have appreciated the honesty and a "fair declaration of war" over Yuu. Instead, she came of as a backstabbing, ungrateful bitch.

The biggest betrayal, and the worst thing a character did in this story, has nothing to do with Yuu. It's Yami betraying her best friend, a person who dragged her out of her misery, completely selflessly, and helped her become a semi-functional human being. This, and only this, is why Yami is trash.
