I was going to say "How do you preserve food with sand", but it turns out you literally just shove the food in some sand (in a jar or something) and move it to a cool area. Huh, the more you know.
This said, it seems like it'd be useless, if not outright ruin, any meat - and wouldn't it be a nightmare to try and clean the sand off the meat?

I mean, Sand is basically comparable to Earth magic. Just not as compact. But still quite polyvalent. When mixed with the other 4 elements, it can be used with quite devastating effects. =/ (Wind + Sand = Sandstorms, Water + Sand = Quicksand, Fire + Sand = Glass? He can even make golems out of sand...)
