It's understandable that some people don't find the OP MC trope to be interesting but there are some other draws in here I think. I probably agree with the objective complaints on the whole but I nevertheless didn't mind continuing reading. I can't really explain why the following isn't all that bad but in some seriousness I found this to be far more tolerable than most isekai trash.

My personal biggest issue is probably just early on when he's randomly just wandering around and somehow manages to arrive at the next plot event for no apparent reason. I'm chalking it up to divine intervention since that does actually seem plausible but the author leaves it kind of vague on that end of things. Due to that I think the overall tension is a little dulled since we come to expect the good guys to be relatively unscathed most times. There are major injuries and deaths that take place but as time goes on they either stop happening around MC or he simply heals/purifies/whatever to make things better.

I suppose I might as well comment on his intelligence/competence since that does seem to be an important factor for judging the progression of the plot. I find it kind of hard to peg what his actual knowledge level is supposed to be, or if the writers are even concerned with that and just do whatever is convenient for the moment. Most times he seems to be about the average intelligence of any working adult man though here and there he's probably a bit above average with his experience with programming or the fact he apparently still remembers what he learned in math class (c'mon, you know most people will just say they forgot). Beyond that it's a little inconsistent if he thinks logically or not.

I feel like we see some solid reasoning from time to time but other times it's like he just gave up on thinking and just leaves it up to random chance or luck. I do have some concerns with these moments because he tends to be careless with very sensitive situations or makes situations way more volatile for no other reason than I guess rule of drama. For all the times he's absolutely failed to pretend to be normal he only finds new ways to screw it up.

If your most important factor is a 'decent story' when why are you reviewing isekai? 90% are going to be trash, there's not gotcha moment here. It'd be more remarkable if it wasn't mostly recycling something someone else already did. The point in reviewing isekai, or trash in general is whether it's still enjoyable in spite of that.

Anyone who just runs around looking at series they already know they will hate going in just so they can write 'i didn't give this a chance and hated it as expected' probably need to find something more fulfilling to do with their time.

blah blah. A story can be enjoyable and simple. But there’s basic things to a story that are required. Originality isn’t required. But some basic plot development and writing above a third grader from Mississippi helps.

Arin-san and the LHTranslation crew!! Thank you for all the updates recently!!! You guys brought me back to this series and while it’s in a lull right now, some of the fight scenes have been great.

It's a trash manga sorry guys but whoever reads this trash he must be a hero I'm already 9 chapters in and it feels way too boring he acquired so much power op character his mana goes in minus too the point he supposed to be dead but all he gets is a dizziness and maybe faint for 5 minutes I just can't read it I think his declaring too the readers from this point on you will see a main characters who has low iq looks dumb soulless like a Japanese office worker with no wife no woman interest and shooting magic going too minus mana without being affected at all Its like with this plot his checking all the boxes for certain amount of readers well it gets a 6 for me cause the art was good and at least the main characters was not chasing a harem

I feel like I gave this a good chance, 25 chapters before I got bored.

The premise is average, but I don't often like to judge solely based on that because an old idea can always be done in a new and fun way... That is not the case here. It feels kinda, lazy? He tames thousands of slimes but never does anything with them but use them to scout places? It seems a waste.

What hurts me the most is the plot though. Not the strongest point for most isekai, but this one absolutely takes the cake. Every few chapters he visits a town, encounters a world-ending problem, solves the problem, gets famous, and moves to another town. I genuinely lost count at how many times he did this, had to have been at least 6-7 times before I got fed up—and remember, that's 6-7 entirely different towns within 25 chapters. If the problems were interesting I might've been alright with that, but if it's a problem that can be solved by him blowing it up then it's not an interesting problem (literally every single one of them was solved by him destroying something btw).

The only thing I really liked about this manga was at the beginning when we were learning all his new spells. Him testing out how strong the sage's abilities were was fun and then he transitioned into being able to create new, original spells—so the depth of creativity should've been endless... But for the last few chapters he's only used the same ones over and over again.

Overall, 2/10—There's no depth of any kind to be found anywhere in this manga, which is a shame because there's a LOT of opportunity for it.

People saying it's trash are partly right, because I believe it's meant to be trash, it's a manga that just takes every OP MC Isekai trope and does it halfway before turning around. and I think the author knows what they're doing with this, it's introduce a trope sit on it like it might go somewhere for a few chapters then never touch it again. We got it with several female characters that have just enough detail to make a reader think "Oh they might stick around and be "love interest" or "harem" trope but no they get abandoned because this whole manga seems devoted to flipping trope on their side.
Strong dragon, nah he's just kinda the to answer questions. Mysterious priest = Same. Dryad, you thought those mana potions were going somewhere haha think again!
Despite all this the author does have a story that's progressing even if people don't think thats the case cause it ultimately is a "Save the world from ending isekai" even if some of the villians are obscenely dumb about their motivation, there can only be so many people who are just absolutely batshit crazy, and while they give an answer to why a few are there are entirely to many people who just "Love killing people" or are like "I'm willing to die because this is an honor" but even this might just be the author making fun of the terrible villian trope, this is after all a comedy and I believe if tags could be weighted that would be the primary one.
So if you like comedy isekai its worth a read, if you are expecting any of your favorite tropes to be on display to make up for the stereotypical OP MC your times better spend elsewhere.

As of a few hours ago, chapters 1 to 76 in English were taken down for some reason. Only found out when I went to the next chapter and it wouldn’t load

I really love this series when it only has about 30+ chapters, and I'm also an old fan of the series, but I can't believe LHT would delete a bunch of their translations to force readers to go to their website... or force readers to "donate" for them...

Is this another comicdom phenomenon?!

Context for those coming here later about the previous few comments.

There was a mass strike down by companies that own a lot of the media that was posted here, so a lot of chapters of a lot of series were taken down even though the series‘ title pages themselves are still up.

The dev team has a FAQ with more info about it here -> https://mangadex.org/compliance/copyright-faq
