They're both HP+MP, though he's only ever used it to regen his mana, afaik. But when he first does it it's TL'd as "total HP+MP recovery".

I'd be very surprised if elixirs didn't show up by the end of the arc since Medisfina even brought the plot point back up on the airship ride over, but it's a bit surprising it still hasn't shown up yet. Though it's also the case that he's never drawn an elixir without an actual drawing+scroll, so maybe the author wants us to believe there's something special/different about "actual drawings" vs things he can just magic-canvas + imagine into existence. But it's probably just bad writing that's going for a more "emotional" moment where he does it right as she's about to die or something.

Am I crazy? Why the hell is MC not just drawing elixirs for everyone to use constantly? If he can draw his dA OCs instantaneously, surely he could draw an elixir or cure all to fix any damage issues. Seems a bit silly for him to be so distraught over Medis when he could just max her health.

It was explained that his magic canvas drawing can only summon creatures and no items. That is why in the "Tournament" Fight he could not draw a sword but has to draw a golem and then modify it. His Item drawing (only seen with the elixier as I remember) is a different "Skill" and for this he need a scroll. But after his mana nerves was repaired the scrolls burned up when he want to use them. Reason could be his mana is too much for a scroll or something the maid was doing to hide his mana pool. Of course the author use a easy way to resolve this, but it is a fictional world so the author can create the rules for this magic. At least he does not seem to contradict one rule as soon as the rule was set up and just add new rules (like no human can be summon. In this chapter there are just "beasts" which are transformed. Not bad writing but again a easy way. What is the difference for the rules of the world between a human and a dragon in human form...). In some mangas they do not seem to remember their own rules.

In Chapter 24 after his mana nerves was repaired he tried to draw an elixier but the scroll (which he always needed for his item drawing and therefore for the elixier) burned up and he thought it was because of his mana change. So for now he cannot draw an elixier. The author used an easy way to resolve the problem with unlimited instant full heal+mp but at least it makes somehow sense that a scroll cannot handle his overpowered mana. Other mangas has done it worse and just forget the power.

Unless the scrolls can only made by gods and are delivered to mankind as a divine favour, one can make their own. This is a half-assed story, so the author is merely coming up with half-assed reasons to limit the MC's power, having made the mistake of writing such an overpowered MC. A fairly common mistake, though traditionally it only happened much later in a story, even to the point of only making sequels difficult because of the constant power creep (think of the Nanoha universe, for example). Since this is cheap isekai, the MC was instantly OP, giving the author an extra challenge in writing an interesting story.
