Mad props to the kid. Being able to admit what happened and move forward with that kind of determination is difficult, even for adults, and especially so considering he's just learning about that kind of mindset. I doubt we'll see him again since this isn't that kind of manga, but I kind of hope he'll at least show up as a callback at some point.
