Is it a Japan thing to leave a student on ice in such situations - when a school is being closed? Or is such scenario purely fictional?
Where I live it is just as much of a responsibility for a child or teenager to attend a school, as of a state to provide a possibility for that.
If a school is closed or merged, a place in another one will be provided, I believe by law.

Will Japanese authors ever realize that mandatory "exposition male friends" aren't actually mandatory? I'd welcome male friends if they were actually fleshed out characters, but they just never are in manga like this one.

On the other hand, I really do appreciate the lack of classic constant jealous stares from everyone around the protagonist. I really hope it stays that way.
