Yeah, the whole angle of "don't worry, the new ruler is our friend now so it's gonna be ok, but also she's not really in control because her mom is still keeping her in check" is also very... bizarre. It feels a bit like the plot wasn't actually planned out to its conclusion, and character ties and roles were assigned as the story went along.I like this, like the characters and their interactions, the art is cute and so on. But honestly, if I was an enchanted kind of person in this world, I'd be trying to start a revolution against the witch clan. Or within it. These bastards think they get to just tell everyone else what to do and whether they have the right to exist. It weirds me out sometimes that nobody seems to think this is a problem, even the victims . . . like, there's Maria thinking about whether she wants to go along with some particular thing they want to do to her, but even she never seems to question the basic idea that it's OK for them to be acting like that in the first place.

Could be just some Asian thing, sometimes it is just different cultural values that for us might be stupidYeah, the whole angle of "don't worry, the new ruler is our friend now so it's gonna be ok, but also she's not really in control because her mom is still keeping her in check" is also very... bizarre. yeah thous people forgot way the witch clan exist and way they treat monsters like that >.> ain’t like they had to go to war with monsters to protect humans 0.0Could be just some Asian thing, sometimes it is just different cultural values that for us might be stupid
But on the other hand, and someone please do correct me if I'm wrong, didn't the story imply or even outright make clear that the witches basically make sure to keep the status quo and not let the masquerade break?
Also, besides keeping supernatural stuff hidden wasn't it also their job dealing with monsters who harm humans?
I don't know, maybe I'm remembering wrong or mixing series, but from what I remember although they're kinda extremists they're still sorta the good guy and the reason they tend to expect / assume the worst of monsters is because in the past they had to deal with a lot of evil monsters
Of course now in modern times they could maybe chill a little, but I vaguely remember their attitude not being like that for no reason
is like complaining way the police exist, do you honestly think the Witch Clan gives a crap what monsters think? their rules are as followYeah, the whole angle of "don't worry, the new ruler is our friend now so it's gonna be ok, but also she's not really in control because her mom is still keeping her in check" is also very... bizarre. No, you're right. The witches govern things and keep the peace. They are essentially keeping order and monitoring monsters, etc. If I remember, that role just worked out that way over time. Not good or bad. The mom is just strict, but she will not be in charge forever. Maria is also a bit of an outlaw who fought with witches, so her impressions of them are always a bit biased and based on her old history. I wouldn't consider them villains or anything, and I don't think the story intends them that way.Could be just some Asian thing, sometimes it is just different cultural values that for us might be stupid

I'll be honest, it's been so long ago I felt like I was half shooting in the dark :vNo, you're right. The witches govern things and keep the peace. They are essentially keeping order and monitoring monsters, etc. Not good or bad. The mom is just strict, but she will not be in charge forever.
Well, if there was a police force that was in charge of everything without any legitimate government to keep them in check, then that's called a "police state" and yes, I'd object. With normal police, you have a government, maybe elected but anyway with some kind of perceived legitimacy, that decided it was a good idea to have some police. With the witches, they decided they were the police. And there's no real indication they give a damn about anyone who's not a witch. If I'm not a witch, I have no reason to consider that OK.is like complaining way the police exist, do you honestly think the Witch Clan gives a crap what monsters think?
I'm pretty they've set sail and have been sailing for the longest time, and now we get to witness their second(?)journey into even more kinky things. The vibe between the two is making me want to set a new ship on a voyage.
Thanks for the chapter!
