And this ended just like I thought. Too drunk, too uncertain. Maybe they learn something? I'm glad they both realized they were rushing in, being inconsiderate, and not thinking about the consequences.

The important part is we saw boobs.

Wild thought, but is this story way less insane than Domestic Girlfriend was? Sasuga Kei showing restraint?

While some might see this as an L, I disagree. Hiromi treated Nonoka with nothing but respect. He could’ve easily pressed the issue, she was the one who suggested going to a love hotel, and she seemed comfortable with the idea. But when she passed out drunk, he understood she might not be in her right mind. Instead of taking advantage, he chose to simply sleep beside her.

When she woke up and realized she still had all her clothes on, that he hadn’t done anything, she respected that. And what did she do? The exact same thing, she mirrored his respect and didn’t try to escalate anything either.

To me, this moment could be foreshadowing something between them. Maybe not a long-term relationship, but something real that comes from mutual respect. Even if it doesn’t last, it could lead to something meaningful in the short term.

Now, the real question is, should he tell Lili what happened?

In my honest opinion, no. Lili broke up with him. They’re just exes sharing a space now, and he doesn’t owe her an explanation. But knowing how kind-hearted Hiromi is, he’ll probably tell her anyway, and that’s only going to stir up unnecessary drama. It might even push Lili to confide in her male best friend, who could take that as a chance to make a move on her. But that’s a bridge we’ll cross when we get there.

As for Hiromi, I don’t see this as an L at all. Whether it’s a relationship or something physical, the last thing you want to do is make the other person feel uncomfortable. And in this case, Hiromi showed real restraint and respect. So yeah, maybe things didn’t go the way he hoped, but that doesn’t mean he lost.
Yeah - Hiromi did not fuck up, here. I absolutely am on Team "stay in your hometown, work at the inn, marry Nonoka, live in your grandma's house, forget Tokyo", but I realize the realistic chances of that happening are relegated to any hypothetical future fanfiction.

But whether any deeper relationship develops between them going forward, they both made the correct call, and because of their actions (and lack thereof) they've not risked ruining the rapport they've reestablished or could build upon in the future.

As far as the missed call goes -

It obviously depends on what she was calling about, but I actually don't imagine Hiromi telling her why he didn't pick up, unless she specifically asks hi--actually yeah, that's the sort of nonsense she'd pull, and I think you're right in that he wouldn't dodge the question or lie to her, as much as he owes her nothing.

I really can't posit anything without knowing the reason she called at 10 at night, because literally anything could be on the author's mind and it wouldn't end up surprising me.
All I know is there's a 90%+ chance it'll cause Hiromi to backslide, because Lili has that annoying facet to her character where the author seems hellbent on using her to beat our ML down whenever he starts getting too well-adjusted.

:meguusmug: I get it now. This is all about making him understand he does not need to tie the knot anymore by throwing unlimited waifu works at him. There's a chance that he's been in a coma after suicide attempt since the start

ngl the childhood friend is better than Lili. MC and his childhood friend are both mature, and they respect each other. He should just stay in his hometown, marry his childhood friend, take care of his grandma, and forget about Tokyo. Lili is a headache just like his ex.

The only L here was Nonoka deciding to drink more while already somewhat drunk.
Hiromi this chapter was peak Chad Gentleman.

I'm pretty sure me and the rest of the readers can agree on one thing: Lili's classmate can have her for all we care

yeah, we don't actually know why Lili called yet.

Definitely still time to hit/surpass Domestic GF levels.
we already got an explosive teddy bear, we already are at those levels, buuut she's hiding it with an actual good arc this time hahaha
