Maybe that's good, though, since my memory can't remember much of this story between the start and end, and I only have the one question of "why couldn't he stay with the demons" because I can't remember what other plot holes they left gaping.

Endings like that are exactly the reason why I believe series being straight up abandoned is better then axed. In the former case, you can still at the very least dream.

Well, that's an ending. Series had some nice highs, and obvious lows, but coupled with this ending it's a very mediocre series. Really wish less stuff was off screened.
