He just wants a peaceful life, but he doesn't get rid of a problem right in front of his face that will return and continue to impede his peaceful life.
Tin foil is actually pretty good for stopping the mind control signals. That's why you can't really find it easily anymore and it's all aluminum foil, which amplifies the signals.
I get that it's been a long time for him and he's moved on from a lot of this. But dude should really have a reaction beyond "Aw shucks." to the realization that his childhood friend magically brainwashed his stepsister.
talk about rushing An's little story but ehh her story wasn't all that important anyway. (she also likes to talk in the third person....)
So An was Mc's littel step sister she was super close to Mc and even wanted to marry him but she then met "childhood acquaintance", he used charm on her and because she was so young she became absolutely OBSESSED with him.
she apparently got so bad that she made Mc's home life a living hell she cased terror and was the driving factor of his mothers and step father's divorce, after that she never stopped talking shit about Mc and was generally a menace to EVERYONE around her so literally everyone at school actually hates her.
after Mc came back to earth his returned literally killed any on going charm spell in a massive radius, this freed An from the bastards charm that also stacks up so she is suddenly very free to think about things, she realizes that she f'ed up a lot and "needs" mc to forgive her as when the bastard was purged from her mind what was left was her love for mc from childhood, but its way too late for anything and mc lowkey hates her because she made his mothers life a living hell for a bit.
side note: she would NEVER be able to get the spare key because Mc's mother moved everything and would NEVER let An into the house.
also the low kick was suppose to come later but if Mc does it again im fine with that.
I assumed it was something like that. Why do so many manga do this? What's the point of the brainwash plot point if the person will still be blamed for the actions? Feels like it'd be better to just make the character an actual asshole...
From his perspective, this was something that happened at least 15 years ago. It is genuinely not important to him because it is something (relatively) minor that happened a long time ago. It isn't that he doesn't have a clue, its that he's both detached from it both by time and the severity of his later experiences.
I'm not expecting him to go guns blazing on the guy, I do expect him to at least figure out if it was malicious.
Idk man, if I found out some kid was actually my sibling's bully 10 years ago, I'm going to at the very least call them out on it.
MC's attitude of indifference towards these people and events around him is (imo) ruining this story.
Why didn't you take revenge to this "friend" of yours? Why did this guy leave his "sister" once again with a guy who can manipulate peoples minds..?
Seems like the rational thing would be, at the very least to somehow seal his power, if not actually kill him.. He's already had such a negative effect on so many peoples lives. Just imagine what a scummy guy like that is gonna do with his powers when he's adult.. Become a serial r*pist for sure.
From that perspective, he should be put down, if there's no other cure.
If the setting and plot is interesting, then surely the author will ruin it by writing a disappointing protagonist.. Such is the japanese authors way.
The fact that this series is a MONTHLY series will be the death of it........
It just feels so incredibly slow that by the time something happens half the time people are like who's this character again? I actually read a comment that the LN is fun because of how many things happen here and there but because this is a monthly the pacing is completely fucked

Eh I find that as a dumb reason to still dislike her. She was definetly not sound of minded and hand mind fog and side effects to charm on a brain that wasn’t fully developed. Like the best friend talks about stealing his girlfriend, his friend is upset he’s not sad he was betrayed, his step sister reveals she’s been mind controlling her to mess his life up since children, and just decides that’s ok and she’s not? That’s kinda funky

Perhaps it is a involuntary trait that even affects the males around him and that is why the MC didn't resent him for swiping his stuff and his girlfriends.
lmao.. this is fitting into my guilty pleasure genre
Random things like this are fun to read after tiring days of working
Will this turn into Rokujouma? we possibly will have Angels as well.

The guy is actively harassing MC, he fucked with his family and friends, if you want to be left alone, and someone is actively preventing, that you deal with that person.
I wonder how many more introductions we'll need? It's clearly one of those absurd manga where everything is strange, and we've still got the angel and the aliens to meet. And they're not going to stop at just that, it would be silly.

dont compare it to Rokujouma, Rokujouma at last had better storytelling and pace as well how more coherent than whatever mess this one is, this one seriously far to detached at everything and ruined with how MC act so nihilist almost to everything else, i dont say MC need to proactive but he not even reactive either, he just swallow everything then "meh" when he supposed to want "peace"
