I honestly kind of hated this chapter. It confirmed that Hilary was an airhead and didn’t have some other motive for not giving Kanata more info about the Meteorians before the entrance exam. You can maybe say that it wouldn’t have mattered since his Meteoria was fully grown and he wasn’t getting the same prep time as the others regardless, but cmon. She didn’t even tell him how to use his power until the moment of the exam that would kill him if he failed.

At the very least if he knew about how to use it the night before, he’d only have been blindsided by the pass or die nature of the test. That could be hand waved away as Hilary trying to make sure Kanata got a good night’s sleep. Right now she’s just an airhead so ditzy that she probably significantly increased the likelihood of him dying during that exam
