I never went there so I don't have a first-hand experience, here tips are symbolic since the wages of all employees are covered in the bill. As for USAians going abroad, I never had an argument or anything close with one so I have to borrow others' words again: for instance, a Canadian folk frequently complained about USAians visiting on a regular basis and behaving like having mental problems, doing things that there are basically against the law and incredibly bothersome. So I guess I have been lucky meeting only nice people.
Also tipping culture is stupid and I wish employers would actually give good wages to their workers.
