You might be conflating two different groups of people (Group A: foreigners who disobey American norms =/= Group B: foreigners who get mad at Americans disobeying their norms)
Also tipping culture is stupid and I wish employers would actually give good wages to their workers.

I never went there so I don't have a first-hand experience, here tips are symbolic since the wages of all employees are covered in the bill. As for USAians going abroad, I never had an argument or anything close with one so I have to borrow others' words again: for instance, a Canadian folk frequently complained about USAians visiting on a regular basis and behaving like having mental problems, doing things that there are basically against the law and incredibly bothersome. So I guess I have been lucky meeting only nice people.

From what i see, most of Europeans are not angry at you because your social norms are different, we are lightly mocking you because you're doing differently and it feel stupid (the tip culture, the US electoral college system, ...). Except for a few things most Europeans think are immoral, like surrogate mothers. I said most because you're describing stupid tourists and those are more stupid than non-american.

@UnnamedPlayer wait, how is surrogacy immoral?? It's a woman consenting to give birth for someone else and getting paid for it, it's basically adoption but with your own blood. How is that bad?

Only women on the verge of starvation or in urgent need of income for their families would resort to that and human traffickers are laying in wait for more victims to prey on. It's not only about the trauma caused by having to give someone else the baby you've born, they're usually treated like stock or worse, paid much less than promised and constantly threatened. If you can imagine something more dehumanising than prostitution that's surrogacy, and it only exists to appaise the higher classes. You can start by reading this article.

@Manko-sensei ok, so I read the article, and it's messed up that's not what all surrogacy is like. A lot of people surrogate for their family and its fine. From what I understand its surrogacy businesses that are the worst about it but I don't understand why some bad stuff makes surrogacy as a whole bad.
