Just a heads up: "義母" was translated as "mother-in-law" on page 19, but it can also be read as "stepmother" which makes more sense contextually.

I think the synopsis is supposed to say stepdaughter, not daughter-in-law. Edit: Yeah, I did a little digging and it looks like the kanji that were used could be read as both stepdaughter and daughter-in-law.

It seems stupid at first, but upon thinking about it their electoral process isn't so much about secrecy as it is about preventing bandwagoning. An open, public election would influence votes. Why the lack of secrecy, then? My guess is it's for transparency. Given the nature of their work...

I've always been able to suspend my disbelief reading this series but the knights vs civilians bit was just too stupid. Those aren't civilians; those are freaking accomplices!

Yeah, the damaged elevator buttons don't make sense. The damage looks too superficial to actually ruin the switches underneath the buttons. If I were the author, I would've just messed with the elevator system to only lead to the 50th floor regardless of what buttons were pressed. Same result...

Got it; just wanted to be sure we are on the same page. I'm not sure if we really need that to be explained/developed on any further. Any further explanation might end up feeling forced and contrived.
