Don’t know about the OP, but yeah the phrases and words used feels confusing, and throws off the flow of the story. I think the translation should be accurate as possible, but you should still make allowances when it comes to crossing different cultures.

The translation does need a bit of work to flow right, and it’s best to translate everything, even outside of speech bubbles. That said, glad this is back, and looking forward to how you proceed.
