The most annoying part is basically everything in this chapter could have been accomplished without Momo’s memory loss. Just have it be that Okarun is struggling to muster the courage to confess to Momo, you get the same results without the memory loss nonsense.

Ugh, glad Momo is safe, but I gotta be honest, I HATE the memory loss trope. Especially since it’ll probably be completely undone in a few chapters unless the author is cooking up some twist on the formula.

Why do you keep mentioning this being a manga? The form of media has no bearing on this. This cliche is prevalent in literally every for of media: books, movies, TV, games, everything. And it doesn’t matter if ‘it shouldn’t be surprising’. It’s still an overused and tired cliche.
