Thanks for picking it up. The translation reads well. I also do always appreciate the side notes for when a character uses an idiom in their speech.

Shocked, not shocked. The kids are very obviously not normal kids and my assumption is that they are hybrids who the researchers are trying to humanise. In that case those might really be the babies. The baby reaction was cute even if they are horrors from beyond the veil. :D
