Felt really weird that the author decided against formalising the story as yuri, I enjoyed it but at the same time I feel like the impact of it not being fully yuri by the end weakened it a lot, especially considering a lot of the earlier chapters and the obvious connotations behind the whole...

That end felt quite sudden to me but I suppose if the comment above is right about the 2 volume length then it makes sense, the final major conflict of Ayu's family has been resolved (albeit negatively) so from this point forward it would just be new plots or full slice of life type of thing...
