A huge pet peeve of mine is when manga refer to their own plot points as "something out of a manga". Same with film, books etc. Especially in this case since they specify a bad manga.

Yeah that has become very clear. It seems that a lot of stuff that Vegapunk "discovered" was him rediscovering them from ancient cultures.

I think the core conceit of this era is that there is constantly fighting going on so maybe they just felt like it was a bit more than normal. Not realistic, sure, but delinquent manga usually aren't when it comes to adults.

It's too bad we had to end this way. I was hooked in the beginning and if they had the time to do a slow rollout I think this would have been set up much better for the reveal. That said, I am glad we at least got an answer for most of the nagging questions.

I was unfamiliar with what "lotte" was. I believe it is referring to the Chiba Lotte Marines which is a professional baseball team in Japan. I'm not sure what is meant by saves but I'm not a baseball guy.

For a moment I thought this was him before realizing when it took place.

This is an interesting change. In the original timeline Mashio never had to change or confront his mindset because Waka and Kanamori dropped off of the board without his involvement. I think we'll get to see Mashio develop to overcome them in a way he never had to originally.
