Being someone who just lose his mother, this chapter touched my kokoro. 
On another note though, I was just thinking about whether he contacted his mother or not for several chapters and now I know he just ignored her for years. I remember he started at 20 and then somewhere later they mentioned 25. So he's been gone without contact for very long.
