He was always late to his daughters' life moments, but she gave him a chance for redemption on his grandson's birthday. The detective was killed that day by the virus given to him by his successor who was a Friend cult member.

I knew halfway in to the chapter that he was that detective's grandson, but DAMN. It really looks like he Kenji's gang lost or smth, but that doesn't explain why they would have a hero monument tho. Its great to see that Yukiji is still alive tho, i hope others are too
