I really liked that even if there was dumb harem stuff, Nie Li was still committed just to one girl. I liked that Ziyun wasn’t just idolizing Nie Li and actually had some individualism, if admittedly limited. I thought Ziyun would mature out of her childish elitism and she and Nie Li would grow to rely on each other like they had in his past life instead of the standard where the love interest mostly just exists to love the MC (see: ning’er) and is otherwise devoid of character or self-determination. Since the time I thought that, the author has consistently made Ziyun /more/ annoying, and steadily made Nie Li less and less definitive in rebuffing the advances of other women.

Pretty obvious this is also headed for embracing harem bullshit.

Lets be honest, we all know that hes going to end up with both of them. They even mentioned in a previous chapter that the city lord had two wives.

Look, I know Ziyun is trying to be a wingman for Ninger, but damn -- this guy has literally given her everything he can. I have no problem with her not reciprocating his feelings; however, she doesn't have to be so nasty and mean about it. Especially when she so willingly takes all else he offers.

This change of tone from Ziyun to Nie Li is really too abrupt. Her arguments come a little from nowhere and it looks like she has forgotten all that Nie Li has done for her and their various oaths.

Okay, we had to put a disruptive element between them to help them evolve their relationship, but it's really too sudden especially when you see all that Nie Li did for the city during the battle.

In short, maybe father-in-law will open his daughter's eyes ?

Ziyun you are total trash, just pure absolute shit, the poor guy saw married you then saw you die after which he went back in time just to save his beloved town and marry you the women he loved with all his heart. He spent almost a year doing everything he could just to make sure he doesn't loose the things and people he loves and what do you do? Just because you pity a girl you break his heart into particles. How is Ziyun supposed to know that? She doesn't even know most of the things Nie Li has done for her/her family in this life. Nie Li is also always acting super close to her even though she barely knows him which shows as really indifferent and skips essential parts of building a relationship.

this type of drama on these types of stories are really, really retarded and I will explain to you why in a second.

THE FUCKING GUY CAN HAVE MORE THAN ONE LOVER / WIFE. True, there are facts that even the big dick king himself has 2 wives. Cool eh?

Instead of making the drama between the 2 girls and the MC, you could have put more effort it and it about maybe more male rivals that just want the girl for power and then end up being complete traitors or some bullshit. But no... it has to be stupid drama about 2 girls and a guy when *DING DING DING* its not even a fucking problem in the first place cuz they can all get fucking married and live happily ever after.

That was a seriously bitch move.The dude did nothing but help her all series,helped with her cultivation,gave her a monster spirit suited for her,etc.All her current strenght is due to his help.And what she does?Says to his face that he is no better than Yu-han and that he just wants to marry her to get the City Lord position.The CITY LORD POSITION,something that he can easily become by his achievements alone,he doesn't need to marry her for that.
Sure,she did that for consideration towards Ning'Er,but that was still the worst possible way she could have done that.Even if she doesn't necessarily love him,she should have the minimum of respect for everything he did for her.
I really liked her character until this chapter,but now I just wish he dump her bitchy ass and stay with Ning'Er alone.
