It's painful to watch but interesting because this does portray his one-sided crush realistically. Being down being on his own, the elation at seeing her, and then the frustration of seeing her meet with guy she's actually crushing on right in front of him after she just turned him down. All the while he knows he doesn't have the right to get mad but can't help feeling so anyways.
