Does anyone else feel sorry for the maid who saw her master walk out into the wilderness, to investigate a potential disaster, and has probably been wondering where she is for the last few days? She even seemed pretty loyal at the start, so I don't think she'll have just cut and run.

Depends on if she was in on it or not lol.
I don't think every story is meant to be a schoolbook morality lessen or whatever. We have a villainess and beast woman who are trying to make an advantageous situation for themselves while having cross-culture friction at the start. Friction is good. It's supposed to be a little spicy, a little world building, a little mystery and having these parallel "arranged" marriages makes it even more interesting. Basically nothing in Karina's life thus far has come with her whole heart consent so her new situation in a different society with different choices actually has the potential to be a turning point for her.
On the other hand, this whole situation can be added to her pile of things she never consented to in life so far. She didn't ask to be brought to a village of "bloodthirsty beasts", she didn't consent to settling down in this village never to return, and she didn't consent to being the wife of someone who can literally eat her at any time and won't let her leave.

Story will prolly iron these things out of course but, from Karina's perspective all of this is just more of the same for now.

Omg this is so funny and I am inclined to believe it's true. This loser lesbian really committed to the bit. Imagine if she got teased in the tribe for being a human lover (although they seem very accepting of Karina.)
What if they were like “There goes Reshutoka being delulu again thinking human princesses would show up in the middle of nowhere like here” and made fun of her every time a human girl from the settlements came “Here’s your princess lol” only to be FLABBERGASTED when one random day she showed up princess-carrying a pretty girl dressed in noble people clothing and going “this will be my wife now”.

So now they were like “dreams really do come true huh” and happy that Karina is a real living creature instead of a dakimakura of a disney-esque princess.

Like they really imagined at some point Reshutoka would come up with some shit like whatever in-world equivalent of Belle from Beauty and The Beast slapped on a body pillow and say “I am happily married to this girl who loves beats”. The freak of the village.

To add to this her now assigned tribe role keeps her in close proximity to Reshutoka at all times so she likely will have little to no space to herself

So far Reshutoka has been putting her in situations, seeing her react all bristly while she is inner monologging about her own childhood, and then finding a way to praise a reinterpretation of that into a positive attribute. Maybe she has some beast sense to someone’s nature and has noticed her inner conflicts. However it’s gone she’s been fending off Karina putting herself down pretty consistently so far. Her past situation led her to exile and assassination so this to me feels more like a new opportunity than the same old trap she grew up in.

Wolf girl having agency of her own and trying to force MC to settle down adds an interesting twist. I like it a lot more than the typical genius villainess who moves everyone to her will without resistance.
I wish a hot woman would kidnap me too. Uh wait that's what we're talking about right?

I’m seeing a lot of discussion about Reshutoka having some kind of political foresight about Karina but… honestly I think it’s pretty clear from the things that have happened that Karina is in a difficult spot. That she’s unwanted, effectively. Some of the things Karina has straight up said to her made it pretty clear that she believes herself to be in some way undesirable. You also don’t… tend to send assassins after people you want to keep around. XD

Ngl I just kind of really appreciate that the characters in this story are behaving as though they’re aware of their surroundings and have their own motivations. You don’t see that so often. XD

Also can we talk about how Reshutoka has never missed a beat to refute Karina’s beliefs that she’s bad or wicked with evidence that she sees good in her? She hasn’t had to read her mind like we can, she’s just pointing out what she’s seeing with her own eyeballs. That’s so good. T-T

I’m mega hyped for this one. So invested in the story.

I have never been more jealous of a GL protag than when I read this manga. Reshutoka is unbelievably attractive

Reshutoka really went from being read aloud fairytale picture books to "babe sorry you can't leave i need your help with the modernization and development of my tribe", love it

It would be very funny if Aurora hated the books Karina read to her and it planted the seeds of a life long resentment.

Why would she ever want to leave the fluffy wolfgirl paradise!?
She even scored the one with the best fangs as her bride!

I think she needs some therapy.

Really liking this so far. The main romance is a bit morally gray at the moment but will see how it goes. Hopefully our MC will get a bit more power with in the marriage.

The MCs relationship is very interesting and has the possibility to be a bit nuanced if the author writes it right. Seems like they just had a normal sibling falling out where they both resented the other due to how they grew up and then due to them being nobility that transitioned into also being a political issue. Or maybe I’m reading a bit to much into it from what we have seen so far.
