This doesn't make sense in the context of the story so far.

Christopher, the first prince, just got roasted for falsely accusing Silvi of crimes. The kingdom just paid out some large amount to Silvi and/or her family over the false claims. Surely the royal family would be extra careful around Silvi. And yet, Edgar waltzes in and is blindly antagonistic towards Silvi. Why is the royal family letting Edgar run around and risking another massive fumble? Doesn't Edgar have guards or retainers reporting his actions?
