Honestly, I can sympathize with having no expectations of entering the water when going to the beach.
Unless the location you're camping at, has a rich coral-life ripe with myriad plants and fish, then it's just a body of water and sand. It's boring. There's jack shit to god damn do there. Where I live, there's only one location which actually has a coral reef, and it's in the desert, far away from what you'd do on a casual drive on a weekend.
And apropos beach, here's a little "Did you know?" segment: we get so tired after sunbathing, mostly because the body has to work hard to keep itself cooled down. Even we don't feel we're struggling with anything, the body experiences it as such. The body wants to maintain its normal state of operations.
The same can happen at-home, being tired without doing anything, due to something called
Allostatic Load.
