You can blame his grandfather for that. He taught him about saving the 'weak' but never got to finish the lesson on 'forgiving' before he passed away. That's the result of his Hero Complex.

That's a massive upgrade, considering how the body's essentially set to NG+ - she has full access to the abilities right from the get-go.
It'd be interesting if she kept the knowledge on how to imitate those skills when transferring back to her main body! (A slight shame that the other's 100% gone, so no body swap shenanigans!)

It's more that this. What Hajime doing is effectively 'Wiping His Ass Clean' for him. Most of the problem could be avoided or prevented if 'Hero' was competent, as it's most result of his own actions, misaction and nonaction to be true.

Nagumo himself wouldn't trust Nagumo, if he was some other person. It's perfectly reasonable. Sure, Nagumo might be looking after his own, after a fashion (he won't pamper them), but all in all he's already inscrutable for the rest of the class, plus most of the locals. He's an outlier who does incomprehensible things they can't predict. They also sacrificed him, more or less, so while you might foremost say Nagumo shouldn't trust them, it does go both ways. If your faction betrayed someone (even if not you personally), would you expect good things from that person, if he returned alive? Perhaps that's mostly ancient history now, but it did split them forever.

Not that I'd consider Kouki an outstanding fellow, don't misunderstand me.

I know what it is like to not even be able to trust yourself. It hinders you many ways, but it avails you to many attributes that provide a benefit to yourself and others. My boss loves how I make so few errors and have only gotten better over the years. Problem is when the system changes I'm back to zero trust. Biggest problem is that if you feel you can't make something that is nearly error free then you won't bother trying.

guys, hear me out.

now that she got a new body, it means she could do anything that she wanted without worrying about permanent changes like wound, damage and if possible 'pregnancy' .

Kaori is now basically freed to any physical and moral burden. her fragile former body is stored safely by MC and any reckless action or anything horrible happened to her can be easily healed and she can just return when she's satisfied.

what I'm trying to say is..... doujin author or artists please do your magic!

really... I love harems but not every girl gotta fall for the MC in the story...

yes the "Hero" is a dumb ass thats jealous & sees only his actions as just but, you sure as hell wouldn't be cool if the girls you cared for suddenly start fawning for someone else, and not just talking about Kaori...

just cause someone saves you, doesn't mean you should trust them.
(especially with how MC always goes off about not caring about them, but saving them out of obligation to another)

like the god in this story, he may give his divine blessing or some shit doesn't mean that he's good...
