On one hand I’m like, ”why didn’t he do this on his own, it’s literally just common sense” but on another “at least he got advice from someone who can give good advice” but what I’m still most confused about is “why does she even like him? is she his childhood friend that made fun of him and now wants to make amends? or is she just trying to come to terms with reality and force herself to accept the guy because her parents forced her to engage to him?” I really don’t want to suspect her closeness to him but it’s just too suspicious i can’t help it

I'm starting to really hate these "oh noes a cold" chapters they have in EVERY ROMANCE MANGA EVER... Illogical, boring, dumb, full of self blame for no reason, just all together disgusting chapters.

I'm still wondering how she knew him, she said in chapter 3 "You used to talk to me normally". Hopefully she doesn't end up being the girl who traumatized him because that would make no sense if he somehow didn't remember her name since it seems like they were pretty close.

So far, it seems like the protagonist is surrounded by good people who want the best for him and want him to grow up into a responsible adult. Even that suspicious girl teaching him how to handle stuff is always giving him actual proper advice.

I don't think this is supposed to be anything serious, like betrayals and conspiracies going on, just a story about a guy learning that he's worth more than he gives himself value for and becoming a better person by learning to appreciate who he is and growing capable of socializing.

As for why she's so invested in him, that could be very well because she wants to make this relationship work. It may have been something decided by their parents, but that doesn't mean she has to dislike the situation. Maybe they met before and she fell in love with him in the past, or maybe she's just into the idea of an arranged marriage, but whatever the reasoning is, she looks exactly like the kind of person the MC needs in his life.

I do want to know why the MC ended up with such low self-esteem, though.

Everything you said is my take on this whole situation.

The whole story is most likely based around the idea that our MC will come to find his own self-worth through his relationship. We have already seen that she sees him for him, and as far as we can tell, wants to be with him for him. They went on that date and he took her to places she would like and ended it by going to a place he liked because she wanted to know more about him. If her plan was to do something bad to him then she wouldn't have been interested in what he likes. We have also seen at least 1 .5 chapter where it was her POV and she said something about wanting to make it work.

Their parents are old friends, so these 2 DEFINITELY knew each other when they were younger. I would venture to guess we will get the whole "MC forgot an old childhood friend" trope...but, honestly, in his situation where he wants nothing to do with literally anyone it makes sense he would forget.

In the end, I really do think she is just into him and sees him for more than what he thinks he is. She is okay with this whole situation specifically because of that.
