This is the big question rn. I suppose the did get together later and made amends as lovers, or at least... went for a one last hurrah as pretend lovers to fulfill their childhood wish, both for the first and last time.

"Is this what it takes to be with you in this town?" Chills... I think we forget why she became an abyss, it's like Esemori said, she's possessed by this town. What it did to her, what that town's people and social rules did to her, how they took over her and how she became that town. Always dragging people back to her in some way.

At the start I remember thinking how weirdly convenient it felt how everyone seemed to be connected in some way once Esemori appeared. But to see it was Yuko all this time who was the connection with everyone. Wow.
