Also, wasn't the tone of the story had always been like this? Yes, it's edgy but it's not unbearable.

before in the original ( man.. Dazai really wouldn't have changed if it weren't for Odasaku's death (he didn't change much in the original, he still uses and manipulates people "all according to plan", he's really broken

This is getting interesting I hope after this series is done we get an anime adaptation with the same studio that did the original series well probably not through but never the less it would be a pretty story. I waited for this series to get an English translation so I’m glad they didn’t stop.
