Can You Reupload Chapters That Were Taken Down? (Show Unavailable Chapters)

I noticed something interesting on a manga site.

There are chapters marked as unavailable (you can see them using the “Show unavailable chapters” option), which I assumed were taken down and couldn’t be uploaded again.

But apparently, it’s still possible to reupload those same chapters.

So now I’m wondering:

• Is this actually allowed, or just not properly enforced?
• What happens if you reupload chapters that were previously taken down?
• Will they just get removed again, or can it lead to strikes or bans?

Curious if anyone here has experience with this.

When you upload content to MangaDex, you're essentially telling us you have the authority and the legal rights to do so.
If for whatever reason you do not, and we receive a valid takedown request from someone who does (reads as: a rights-holder), then access to the infringing content will be disabled so as to comply with legal requirements.

But that's pretty much it...
