Whomever planned that rebellion was quite cunning. And also seemed to control monsters to attack the princess' escorts, which doesn't seem normal for this world.

Wow, 50% of the army is centralized in the capital as the Rebel army and the allied 50% is scattered around the rest of the kingdom. Yeah, game over.

Dang I would join the side of the rebels if they have that much support and cunning. It's not like Cleria is entitled to the power and she can't whinge about them beheading the royals as they would have done the same thing to them. So to me, it's like there are actually no good sides, only political sides.

In a world of hereditary magic affinity, royalty likely do have innate talent to deserve their position.

Totally- it felt realistic so to speak, similar to those European Movie series about medieval age politics.. It also doesn't spare the other characters from the harsh treatment and death.

Even today the sole logistics of raising an army of that size wouldn't go unnoticed, beside while approaching possible allies for the rebel side, someone wouldn't definitely declined and informed the king! That's why most of the rebellions were in the open and the supporters would gather in the domain of the one leading and then depart to, in most cases, meet the opposing army to settle the score!

Did we read the same chapter? Y'all are talking like this isn't an extremely average low fantasy war. How are you gonna call the rebels "cunning" when all they did was raise an army and storm the capital? You set the bar so low it's practically on the floor
