Thanks for the release, I really enjoy this series so I'm glad to see you continue even with the licence
Thank you. I just want to take this opportunity to say that you should absolutely buy the physical version if you can!! This manga has really excellent story trajectory.

Second prince seems really competent, he would be good king.
I think it's story about redeeming, but now we also have some political schemes around, which I usually like, but here it kinda unnecessary.
The way I see it is that this is really a character story about the growth of Kuruhi and what is essentially a second life for him. But we have the threat of the kingdom now possibly throwing a wrench in that, so it is the obstacle of our story. (I have skimmed ahead in the raws, but I don't know the details, this is just my guess)

So the one thing that resulted in the start of his growth (royal family) is now going to cause some kind of interference. Perhaps temptation or perhaps another opportunity to grow more since he has hindsight of his actions when he was prince. I think that's pretty interesting! If done well.

Based on the second prince's words at the tail end - taken at face value, I would say it sounds like the kingdom (read: royal family) is going to be the main external obstacle to Kuruhi's growth & redemption story.
Kuruhi, given time and the combined effort of himself and our intrepid innkeeper Emma, could quite likely find himself a reborn person with better temperament, judgment, patience, empathy, and all those qualities he lacked while still titled.
But the second prince seems to not be content with the mere stripping of all titles and authority of his brother.
Wanting him to "disappear" makes me think that he'd just as soon see Kuruhi at best exiled entirely -- though if that was the desire, I don't see why he wasn't caught and thrown out of the nation at the same time he was renounced and kicked from the palace.
Which, makes me think the second prince wants him permanently dealt with - i.e. killed. It would seem he sought to entrap Kuruhi via the noblewoman Marical, which would probably induce some sort of scandal that--given Kuruhi is no longer a noble--would carry quite the punishment, up to and including death (for a commoner who lays his hands on a lady with a title).

So while I suspect, based on the tone of this story, that Kuruhi will ultimately succeed and any obstacle placed before him by his former family will lead to him growing as a person, from the point of view of the characters in the story, the second prince seeks his brother's death, and Kuruhi will have to evade capture and/or assassins of some manner or another.
How that plays out in terms of redemption, I am not sure - perhaps he saves the inn from property damage; saves the life of Emma or other clients. Maybe he is seen by spies helping around town, mingling with commonfolk, and those spies, like Marical, foretell of how changed he is as a person, and if the King catches wind, he interferes with the second prince's plots on Kuruhi's behalf, or something.

But while I don't expect the series to actually have real, darker elements, I'm pretty certain the intent of the second prince is one of murdering Kuruhi to "permanently deal with him", as I can't think of another way to interpret his words this chapter, given he did not opt for exile when it would have been the most convenient (and justified) to make happen.
