Abe no Seimei explained in past chapter, that massive amount of energy cant vanish it can just going somewhere. That means even though he is weakened by the curse, if he can tap back to the source of his power, he can be back to full strength. Or maybe what he mean is, even if you defeat him here, as long the place that store his power still remain, he cant die.

Except that energy did go somewhere - it got drained into the curse yayoi set up, and is now being further drained by otogiri. It’s possible he might not let himself be fully drained, and will still exist in some form after this fight, but if he does he’ll be so weak his influence will basically be nothing, and depending on who, exactly, is still worshipping him, he may not be able to recover any meaningful level of power without outside assistance. All of this assuming yayoi doesn’t just bottle him for later.

The mark on the alien doll is a mirrored version of his. A little detail could cause the god's ultimate demise.
His real body is a star you know and he draw the power from that. He is like an rpg character who already OP (in all sense) but have limited bag so he just bring necessary OP items. Even when defeated, he will just need to respawn in home base and restock, then challenge them back.
