Well in her case its a bit different. Her parents still have feelings for each other and are not divorced, just living separately. There is something that is keeping them separated like this that we are not aware of yet. So in this situation where Ran is aware of their feelings and still feels hope is trying to get them to make a choice (in her favor of getting back together). It is reasonable for her to want this as she cherishes them both and wants the good old days, remember that she is still a young and immature.
