Aside from Tora's character development which sadly got regressed later, nothing important happening.
There were these two friends of Rona who joined the match midway, but aside from making Hiroshi get a red card (he sliding tackled one of the friend from behind, which is a huge no-no), they don't really mean anything afterwards.
Then, Tora was chosen as Hiroshi's replacement as pitcher, the logic being that he's a huge soccer fan. Some failed pitches later, he decided to just kick the ball and played like a soccer player (for example, ditching the bat and glove in favor of his legs), which worked perfectly and the team finally managed to catch up to Rona's team. This in turn ignited Tora's new motivation of being a soccer player.
Hyoro, like a manipulative psychopath he is, chose not to respect Tora's newfound dream, and destroyed it. Hyoro told Tora to use his bat (the argument being that since this is gonna be his last baseball match, Tora should finish the match as a baseball player). However, unbeknownst to Tora, his bat was affected by Time Cloth, renewing that bat back to when Tora first got it, which reignited Tora's memories of his first time playing baseball and falling in love with it. And so, Tora ditched his dream of becoming a soccer player entirely.
Then, some flashbacks for Rona. He was salty that his teammates rarely passed him the ball. The reason being his teammates don't want Rona to hog all of the glory. Then, Rona heard the news of Shiro stepping down from baseball temporarily. Curious as to who exactly defeated Shiro, Rona went to Japan. And then, he saw Dora's vs Boros match (which ended last volume) and figured out Kuro is the one who defeated Shiro. And that's Rona's motivation of challenging Kuro with this soccer-baseball match, he wanted a good match so he can love soccer again.
And then the match is ended with Kuro hitting Rona's trick kicks. Usual stuff.
And then the world was turned back to normal by canceling Rona's "If only baseball and soccer are one and the same" once the match ends. Yes, Rona's whole problem of his teammates not wanting to pass him the ball was resolved somehow despite not really being addressed during him vs Kuro segment of the match, since he scored a goal in a soccer match that Kuro and Hiroshi watched on TV later.
And then King appeared. Some uninteresting stuff happens leading to the world tournament. Ends vol 13.
