A few fun things about this chapter:

- No longer doing SFX (weekly releases from now on! And I've got the next 8 chapters ready to go).

- I am doing honorifics now. There's been a lot of change in how Avan is addressed, and I feel it's important to capture that.

- We now know how Deedock's name is actually spelled since he got his first character sheet at the end of the chapter.

- The new lady we meet at the end of the chapter has a design strikingly similar to Daisy from Dragon Quest Abel, and I don't think that is a mere coincidence.

- I love the chemistry between Avan and Hyunckel... in particular the "we'd die" when talking about using zoom to get to the island and Avan's "gonk" face with the internal "well he's right".

- We have now been introduced to all of the Beruks... so at the end I put together a little "death pool". Because, we know they're not going to defeat Avan and steal his body... so let's have a little fun... who dies first? who dies second? who kills them? I'll be keeping track with each new chapter!

- The VJUMP cover for the month this chapter came out featured Avan, so I included it. In a few more chapters I'll have corresponding V-Jump issues to post even more goodies!

Something I appreciate about this over the original run now that I think about is Deedock being such a unique design when he would’ve probably been closer to the generic DQ thug if he’d been in Dai complete with the head cover thing

That's the goal. We'll be caught up this fall. But then we have a new problem to solve:

Do I release the V Jump chapters once a month? or do I wait for the digital volume release once a quarter?

The digital volume has better shading (VJump has very comicbook dot-shading), is easier to edit (no need to disassemble VJump and scan the pages), has the volume beginning pages, and the character pages at the end of chapters. But waiting for the digital volume would mean roughly 1 month of released chapters follwed by 2 months of nothing. Granted, I do have some other Dai related things I could translate during the in-between times (doujin and official things).

This is a small thing, but it was a nice touch that the double slash attack done by the new lady was done with a Falcon Blade, a rare weapon that allows one to attack twice in one turn. It's a nice nod to game mechanics that this series is ripe with.
