My feeling here is that the manga is trying to "fix" some inconsistencies, or at least offering some new options unavailable in the novel.

This doesn't feel like it's "fixing" anything, compared to the novel the decisions and actions taken here are way more nonsensical and absolutely absurd. There's no benefit or reason to do this shit and it's absolute ass to do so. I honestly hope this gets axed and whoever is responsible for these decisions gets fired, blacklisted, and worse.
