my favorite manga over the years, this is one of the best hidden gem in my opinion, the story is interesting have the feeling of daily life yet original
Hmmm I wouldn't call it hidden gem considering the fact it got an anime, it might even get a season 2 next year if the right stars align, but it does deserve more attention... and a season 2 could fix that!

There's no way those global level witches from headquarters wouldn't notice they are being pranked by something else than the original local guides. They are just going along with it because why not. This allows them to explore another side of the place.

I wish the Olympic selection was the same (complete with impostors) instead of just big money bribery.

Makoto's totally-serious face on page 11 got me for some reason. lol

Can't wait for more!

Also, what character design changes are people talking about...? It's a couple months between chapters so I keep forgetting Akane's hairstyle changed, but what else did...?

Agreed, they've had pretty much the same appearance since vol 8 imo so it has been this way for a few years now.

It's not uncommon for manga to slowly change art style across volumes and this one is no different but the last few have been pretty consistent and the latest volume vs first volume difference also isn't as glaring as most.

Idk, feels like character designs were always inconsistent.

Still cute tho
The character design and style has changed over the years, yeah. I just read the whole thing, and imo it peaked at the Fire Ward Gate - super clean, clear, cute.

Now it's sort of gotten a bit too clean. Line work but not really much detail, and exaggerated expressions used just a bit too much.

But I'm hoping it's because the author is spending more time on the later chapters, to really give us some beauty during the Great Sabbath!

Yep, all the softness and curves are gone from the characters.
It feels cheap now, like mangaka is rushing through their work.
Drawing manga on a regular basis is VERY time consuming, and sitting in front of a desk for 8-12 hours a day with the pressure of meeting a deadline can destroy your back and cause hand pain. I'm guessing the mangaka reduced the number of assistants and had to compensate for it by making a more simplistic and rough design instead.
