Only been an episode out of the gokushufudou drama, and I wanted to know people impressions?

For me, it's a massive let down. I praised the Director for his work on Ossan's Love, but here.

Weird camera shaking, low fps shots, weird compositions. It feels like a rushed drama to fill in a slot. The director seems to have only a passing knowledge of the characters, alot of histories and characterizations has been changed. Unneeded new characters were added and some characters were removed. (such as the cute neighbor boy who learns from Tat is replaced with a charmasless daughter of the main characters.) It's sad when the PV for the manga got it right, better.

Of course it's only been 1 episode out of an assumed 8 or 12. But my intial thoughts have been disappointment.

Idk if it was just the specific upload I was watching but the lighting was terrible. Everything looked like I was watching it through a thin cloud of smoke.
Also why the fuck
do they have a kid? 0/10 addition

I've never really been impressed with Japanese live action media to begin with, because it all usually looks very low budget, so I may have been biased from the get go but it's hard to watch. I do applaud the actor playing Tatsu for actually looking like him though lol.

@gomichandesu No need for a spoiler, it's not something that is in the manga.

No idea why they added them having a kid. It doesn't help she doesn't call him dad either, but it's def their kid. She is replacing that chubby neighbor boy from the manga for some reason. They live in a house and not an apartment.

edit: the manga is so down to earth with some things, but in the drama they live in this super brightly coloured house, with crazy chairs and tables. Everything is primary colours and just is so gaudy. The ceiling is black for some reason, so when they do upshots, it looks like a stage set

The PV did it better, the lighting is better too. No idea how they dropped the ball this hard. It got the mangaka's approval too (though I imagine they didnt wanna bad mouth it) THe PV captures the soft, SoL nature of the manga. It can be bombastic of course, but there are times of silence and peace. Everything about the PV is right, but the Drama is so wrong on every front. (they couldnt even get the right sunglasses colour)

Eh, it's a spoiler (maybe?) to the drama so thats why I did it but I always err to caution on spoilers because people get so up your ass about it even if it doesn't actually matter.
I just really loved the dynamic of this childless couple, so the addition of this random child upsets me for dumb reasons lol
Dude, yeah the PV is so much better, it doesn't look like someone's student film like the actual first episode did. I hadn't watched it before (though after watching it I realize I've seen gifs of it and just assumed that was the drama, which could account for some of my disappointment) It kind of feels like a bait and switch haha

is it a spoiler? it's in the first episode and all over the media press about it. So people complaining about it being a spoiler is dumb. Plus, how can you spoil a gag show, there is no storyline or anything.

They just seemed like a young couple. mid 20s. i see people complaining about the actress being too young, but shes probably the correct age (and it's not like age matters when it's a show about fake people)

honestly instead of an hour long drama, 30 minutes would of been better, or even those 15 minute shorts.
