I fucking love it. Utena's adoration and idolization of Tres Magia, leading her to want them to stand against her without fail, even as the villain... What a dynamic. Hope this gets played with more.

I really like this manga. Sure it's a goofy parody on the magical girl genre, but the characters have consistent personalities. How they act makes sense based on each characters personal logic. That's more than I can say than 99% of American stories now a days. They just make their story pander to whatever political agenda they wanna push, who cares if anything makes sense.

This would be a very different story if Utena idolised Magical Girls any less than she does xD

Funny enough this ecchi, fun and stupid manga have a great psychological consistent and well thought characters.

Utena idolizes magical girls but she is also a sadist. She is always shifting from mind breaking them and to still look at them as heroes. So of course she didn't want to see them in a despicable state serving evil. It's like seeing your favourite actor or real life hero several years later as a drug addict or a molester.

Even other characters have something like that. To be honest I am positively surprised.

Utena idolizes heroes yet commits evil acts against them to satisfy her deep desires, then lectures a hero for doing the same thing when Utena herself is specifically the catalyst for this development. I'm sorry, but Utena comes off as manipulative and completely unsympathetic here. Lampshading hypocrisy doesn't absolve the hypocrite of their sin.

@KoDoge That's a good thing she is suposs to be the bad guy here. That's strange to be dissapointed that a character like a bad guy when he suposs to be a bad guy. Also that's whatthe last panel is about, Vena ask why did she lecture the heroine and told her to not give up when she suposs to beat them.
