Just a little note, I think the translator missed the joke a bit here.
"Oyaji-dono" does not mean "good sir", it's a funny way to say "dad". "Oyaji" is a very informal term for dad, but adding -dono seems to makes it semi-polite. So in manga and stuff it tends to be used to address a "fatherly figure", but is not the speaker's actual dad.
I'm pretty sure if there had been words, in the earlier pages when the old man was still grouchy about his daughter's boyfriend, he'd be saying something like "Don't call me father/father-in-law". Pretty common scene in this sort of scenario.
Obviously the boyfriend brought out the "dad" sake because he's won over his would-be father-in-law.
