To be fair, how he divided the two parties once Frodo and Sam went off on their own is something a lot of people point out as a flaw (and that it got changed for the better in the films). There are a lot of other storytelling techniques people criticise him for as well. Though personally I'd still say he's good enough of a writer to get away with those things. Can't say the same about almost all light novels or mangas.
You're right about that.
I mentionned Tolkien for a reason though. This battle is very similar to Minas Tirith and it's the second time I found a Light Novel who does this.

I love how the last few chapters nearly every comment is asking for the MC. We all know what we're here for

I cringe every time I read a comment asking for the MC as if there hasn't been two MC' s this whole time. Now the other MC has finally gotten a major level up and people still complain.

Cringe.
I know there's a MC and FMC but it's been pretty lopsided with the MC for most of the story. I enjoy the FMC story but it seems like overall her story should have been woven into the chapters we've had better so long gaps of missing MC aren't as noticeable.

It was not possible, with Eve meeting the 2 sisters right before the war starts. And since the MC is heading to where the battle is taking place, they can't show what happens with him before he arrives.

While I'm probably one of the few who don't mind the girl's POV, I do think that this arc is stupid

It's an unilateral massacre, even the stronger students get instantly killed without even realising it
But suddenly, the girl's group can just deal with it? Why?
While I agree that it's good to see the more annoying students finally get what they deserve, the power balance is all over the place, I mean, even the weakest students can kill some monsters together an gain some exp while doing it

As for the girl, the whole "yeah I should focus on what I know instead of using skills" is also stupid, because right after, she spam her shiny new skill (Silver World)
While she did merit her powerup, it's jarring because it's too big of a step up imo, it would've been better if the "Silver World" thing was a skill she already had from the start, but in a much weaker state, which then evolved while fighting (For example, Shirou's progression in Projection magecraft in Fate/Stay Night, since people here like to reference Gilgamesh)

Also, the big problem of the girl's POV is that she has to carry like 10 other students who are basically useless, while I agree with her wanting to protect them, it does become annoying on a reader's perspective because they kinda get in the way all the time
But this whole thing wouldn't have happen if the author let the girl make a deal with the goddess, something like "as long as I do good in the frontlines, please let the weaker students stay somewhere safe"
Even if the goddess is evil, she would have no reason to refuse, as she would gain "hostages", there's no reason for her to just send the students to their death either, it's just a waste of resources

Vicius tried to kill the members of her group not long ago. That should tell you what she thinks about deals with Sogou (she also forced her to take care of them if she didn't want them to be thrown into the Ruins of Disposal) when they already had a deal.
Vicius wants her group of students dead.

About her skill, Silver World doesn't cancel her previous skill (who's also OP btw).

I guess I do ask too much of an evil goddess who threw MC in the most dangerous place around

Yeah I know that both skills are different, but there's no reason for her to gain the Silver World now

About the classmates being with her has an explanation BUT they are spoilers, so if you don't mind:
Visius basically forced Ayaka to carry her group of classmates with her for two reasons, one of them being hidden from her:
1. To make sure they (the classmates) get some experience/possibly awake some skill.

2. So some (or all of them) die in front of her, putting her into a state of desperation and break her spirit with the intention to manipulate her after with regret and guilt.

She never imagined Ayaka would awaken to a skill at all.

They all got cut down like wet paper towels. The students are still weaker than the average soldier? I don't get it.

^ This. This has been my problem with the entire arc of the story. We know the MC is OP because he got dumped into the disposal dungeon and beat it anyway. We know that the girl has been combat trained basically her whole life so she has something of a head start on everyone else. Everyone else who has at least some level of power seems to be an over confident arsehole, and has gotten what they deserved in this arc, but it doesn't really change the fact that they're all supposed to be at least as good or better than your average soldier in this new world. Was the Godbitch lying about that? Are they so over confident that they're putting themselves in needless danger? Are they dying simply because the plot says they need to?
This, to me, is the problem. We have a bunch of forgettable characters being offed for no apparent gain. Whereas their deaths would have had purpose and meaning if the MC had come back and taken revenge on them for how they treated him. The entire plot for the MC is getting revenge on both the Godbitch and his arsehole classmates.

They're high-schooler who never witnessed wars in their life. What do you expect ? Their mentors and leaders were killed in front of them.

Not all of the classmates are there either. Asagi's group is on an other battlefield, Kirihara and the Takao sisters are on a third battlefield.

(And the real assholes in the class were Oyamada, Yasu and Kirihara)

I agree with the power scaling issue. We have elite soldiers getting taken out like chumps when the demon lord miasma isn't in play. Then we have heroes getting killed that have had little development. It seems like somethings off-balance here. We all knew Sugou was going to eventually get a skill but it seems it should have been a refinement of her original training.

They're facing Human-Face monsters, very few humans can kill them.

The MC is heading towards the battle, but I am unsure how he will react when and if he encounters his classmates. For one his classmates used to bully him and when the Goddess was exiling him to the Dungeon only one of them stood up for him (The second MC and the Goddess punched her in the stomach) and the rest criticized and belittled him for not wanting to die and wasting their time. Thus, the way that I see this playing out is that the MC ends up killing most of his classmates (except the female MC) or the MC shows that he is stronger and could kill them at any time if they get in his way, kind of turning the tables on his classmates (I do see at least three of his classmates being killed by him right off rip).
A few voices were raised against him and the rest had no fucking clue how to react to the situation.
