It's kinda iffy on who is talking and about who. I'm guessing that Kalstedt is being the proud official dad, talking about how Myne and her new mother were baking up new sweets and the fluffy bread, his wife got so into it that she has new chefs being trained specifically for baking these sweets. I'm guessing the gravy thing was about how that was the only kind of sauce they knew before, and she didn't like that they were greasy.
