After seeing the comments, I checked and this does seem to be a complete redo. I feel like I like this one better though. Seems very casual, and yet, the art style, though minimalist, appeals to me.

I don't know why some people think this is a continuation from where the original left off... It's a 100% re-do of the original series. Though they added the Skrell Vs Monkey battle. That wasn't in the first manga version.

for me personally, I think Flatfish [or Kani-kun(kanikuni on X)] is doing a good job on this one. I have a lot of things to say but if I have to summarize everything in one short paragraph, Flatfish put a lot of thought on every single page of the chapter and what I'm trying to say here is the mangaka prioritizes visual flow from page to page, lets take chapter 4 as an example:-

the steak on the left definitely looks good but it looked waaay to realistic (basically a real photo but nothing wrong with that, its a technique called photo manipulation and actually quite a common workflow implementation) and it felt kinda out of place in that page and the ones on the right is a stylized(?) ver. of the food and yet, it actually sits well (and looks really good too haha), what I'm trying to say here is the page that Flatfish worked on has a better sense of unity.​

This is just an extra but worth mentioning, the follow-up page difference is night and day. like, if its on a boxing analogy, Flatfish lands every jab consistently while Abi's on a hit and miss.​ ​ Flatfish to readers [in a good way]:-
