Interesting parallels with the captain and Hideo.
- Hideo and the Captain were both Mangaka, but the captain was talented at his craft. Hideo wasn't as good as him, fueling his jealousy.
- They both dated the same girl, which made Hideo insecure and jealous, while the Captain went out and started trying to support Hideo in his career path.
- Hideo is strongly attached to law and proper procedure, while the Captain is an unabashed molester.
- Hideo calls himself a hero, the Captain is called a hero by others, which he denies. Not to deny that Hideo hasn't also been called a hero by Oda and Hiromi.
Makes me wonder if the story is gonna explore what actually makes Hideo a hero - if he even is a hero or a good person. The captain is symbolically losing his worst attributes from before the invasion. He doesn't steal panties or molest people anymore (I hope). But last we saw Hideo, he was trying to have sex with a 17 year old girl, right after the woman he was with died.
