Nothing's going ANYWHERE, at least the manga has the common sense to not waste your time. 12 pages of nothing to go with web novels nothing.

I still find it bizarre that every chapter here gets hundreds of comments even though apparently most people don't even care for the story. Most manga I read get more like 5-40 comments a chapter even though they're more enjoyable. I guess people are just attracted to trainwrecks?

Like it just seems this story is wildly popular; nothing else I read even comes close to this level of engagement. It's so weird, for a story so many people seem to dislike or be bored with. There are other stories I read where most people think the story is bad and don't know how it's still going (like Daredemo), but even those get only a fraction of this engagement. Somehow this one, with a premise that doesn't seem particularly notable, with an audience that doesn't seem to care for it, is nevertheless the most popular thing I've ever come across on MangaDex.

Fucking hopefully we get that... Unfortunately, i'm not really confident it's gonna be anything worthwhile
Maruto's comment on Xitter made it sound like it's going to be some explicit rating chapter 45 that didn't make it into the main manga.

It's because there is (usually) a lot to discuss. In most romcom/romance stories, every chapter is limited to "mc and a love interest ended up doing some stuff together and it was cute/heartwarming". In most plot-heavy stories there's a big overarching plot that is moving slowly with each new chapter without any complex stuff happening.
But here there's always a room for interpretations, characters doing questionable stuff that people like or dislike, and it's always fun to analyze or read others' opinions. Some come here just to whine, sure, but they usually don't contribute much because whining doesn't induce discussion.

Damn, finally best girl is back, but holy fuck, what is this ch length... At this point it's not even worth reading it until you can binge like 10-15 chapters.

Is being properly translated somewhere? I appreciate the speedy efforts of folks here with MT for us to have a discussion, but I want something that's proof checked.
Unironically, /a/ . But you gotta catch the live dump thread.

Yes, this is important. In Daredemo, all the main characters are a piece of bullshit and they recognize it. There is not moral debate possible in any way. Even Makoto Itou from School Days is a more nuanced character compared than the MC and the girls of Daredemo.
The talent of Maruto is create questionable characters but they can still being supported by the audience even if we know about their flaws and sins, for e.g. Kazusa Touma in White Album 2 is a very classic example of this, and she in both IC and Coda is much worse than anything that Yami could have made in this entire series.
Keigo Maki declared too he wanted the audience could support Ai Kamiya even if she was the romantic rival of the main heroine Miyako Shikimori and feel sorrow for her lost love for the male MC, Yuu Izumi.
And IMO, this is the reason why Maruto saw Shikimori and wanted write a what if-story where Kamiya won and became girlfriend of Izumi... only to screw up the relationship at the long term by her own personality flaws.
Like Keigo designed Inuzuka in Shikimori-san to be the loyal and good friend who Bakugo didn´t be for Izuku.

Don't make the mistake of skipping the novel version before spouting BS like the last time. Yom seems to be checked out and he is ignoring half the content to get it over with.
It's probably less that he's checked out and more likely that Yom has a more busier workload since he's also doing the art for the extra chapters on ComicWalker that have yet to be translated.

Sorry baby girl, am I supposed to feel sorry for you? Not only are you suffering the consequences of your own actions, you're actively making yourself worse off with these self destructive tendencies. No sympathy for you

So looking at discarded beer cans and cigarette butts on the street reminded her of home? Bleak.

I legit can't tell anymore if Maruto's trying to write her as the broken bird saved by love, the tragic third vertex in the triangle, or the stereotypical (at least in shoujo) ex w/ borderline personality disorder.

I think it's character study - Aya's doubling down on self destruction instead of growth. But also, I think the pacing is kinda the point - Hikari/Aya/Yuu are currently stuck in their own heads & the reader along w/ 'em.

IMO doesn´t mess with the narrative of "Hikari stole him"
It does though cause Hikari can't steal Yuu's love when she's always had it. In this narrative Aya comes across as the tragic fool for getting in the middle rather then letting it play out. Which is basically what may happen if Hikari/Yuu is the endgame. ETA: Especially if you think Hikari only noticed Yuu b/c of his relationship w/ Aya b/c then Aya sowed all the seeds of her destruction & not just the pushing Yuu away side of things.

I doubt that's the intention, even though from meta point it's true. But I think for someone who buys the manga volume it won't be an issue at all. It's been 2 short uneventful chapters, which will take like 5 minutes to read, so it won't feel like our 2 + 2 months of waiting at all.

He used to have two weeks per chapter. Since October he's had 2 months for 2 main chapters + 2 extra chapters. I think it's safe to say he's been either sick, busy with something else or just slacking on main chapters.

Sure, but it still slows down the advancement of plot - like the characters, the reader has to wait a few chapters to see how the climax/crash out resolves.
